Storyline

This is the following up from our latest film No Burqas Behind Bars. It is story of a journey from Takhar’s women prison to Sweden. The film centres on our main character Sara, portraying her life after a prison sentence in Afghanistan.

Sara is a 22-year-old girl who dreams of freedom. She fights to make her own life decisions, and refuses to be suppressed. She quickly understands that in order to stay alive, she must either obey or she must flee Afghanistan. The constant fear of getting killed makes Sara finally escape to Sweden. This journey will come to introduce Sara to a new culture, and way of living. Her husband back home, Navid, is waiting to come and meet her in Stockholm, but will he recognise the person that Sara has become. And how will he react to her journey towards independence?
