Twin brothers Kliker and Bingo (11) are building a teleporter in the back yard of their family house so they can visit their father every day. They feel guilty because they had accidentally burned the roof of house – and that is the reason Dad left abroad for a better paid job.

The boys are unhappy because they can’t make teleporter work, when an old man approaches them. He claims to be their long lost grandfather, their Dad's father. He abandoned family many years ago and now he is full of remorse. He offers to help with the teleporter and wants a favor in return.  He thinks there might be something valuable buried beneath their house – the blueprints that he is looking for.

When the blueprints are found, the truth is revealed. The old man is not their grandfather, but a shipwrecked alien looking for the crucial missing part to rebuild his spaceship so that he can finally go back home. Thirty years ago, his spaceship had crashed onto Earth and hit their family house. In the explosion their real grandparents (Mum’s mother and father) were killed. The alien was able to save only their Mum, just a little girl at the time, who later couldn’t remember the details of this traumatic incident and therefore nobody knew the truth about the incident.

Before the twins can get a grip on this new information – an upsetting message comes from Dad.  He had an accident and needs help right away! The alien uses the blueprint to make teleporter work and saves the boy’s father.

After helping saving their father, the boys rush to assist the alien to launch his spaceship. The inter-stellar slingshot that aligns only every thirty years is about to open up. This is the alien’s only chance to go home. He can’t wait another thirty years – he is too old and too ill.

The boys don’t know what this departure will really mean for them. There is one piece of information the twins still do not know about the explosion that happened many years ago.  The alien had saved their mum by replacing her broken and carbonized body parts with his own tissue - which means that Mum will live only as long as the old alien remains on Earth. When he leaves, their Mum will die.

The old alien is heartbroken.  His departure will hurt the children to whom he has become so closely attached. But this is his last chance to go home... In the last second, he changes his mind - and stays. He has found something valuable on the planet Earth – a sense of a family. And the twin boys finally get the grandpa they wanted but never had – until now.
