Storyline

After MARCH OF THE PENGUINS and THE FOX AND THE CHILD Bonne Pioche, Wild-Touch and DisneyNature are proud to present the new film by Luc Jacquet.

Written and directed by Luc Jacquet, based on an original idea by Francis Hallé, a pioneering botanist and ecologist specialising in primeval tropical forests, ONCE UPON A FOREST invites the spectator into a never-before-seen world of natural wonder. Shooting took place from June to November 2012 in Peru, Gabon and France.

For the first time, audiences will be able to watch a rainforest grow before their eyes. The film will draw on a vast fund of research and knowledge acquired throughout centuries: from the primeval forest’s first growth to the development of the unique bond between plants and animals, no less than seven centuries will unfold as we watch. ONCE UPON A FOREST will guide viewers on an unprecedented journey into the depths of the tropical jungle… and into the very heart of life itself.
