Storyline

At first sight… The Orphanage is a film about fears. Childish fears and adult fears, and the place were both cross paths.  Behind its doors… hides a twisted interpretation of family ties, a run towards childhood as a gate to terror and a feeling of endless nightmare. Under its surface… conceals a solid drama that fascinates for its ambiguity. There will be those who will read the film as a case study of descent into madness. There will be those who will see the film as hauntingly terrifying ghost story. Some will find the ending devasting, others may find it hopeful. But surely no one will be able to tell which of the options is more terrifying.
