Yann-Arthus Bertrand’s nature film “Home“ and the BBC’s “Planet Earth“ with breathtaking aerial views from countries the world over are among the most talked of nature documentaries around the globe. Inspired by these pioneers in filmmaking, Germany’s VIDICOM uses the same camera technology to create surprising aerial perspectives for “The Coasts of Germany“.

The Cineflex helicopter camera enables spectacular HD telezoom shots of nature and wildlife on the shores. Never before has the German coast itself served as the dramatic frame for a documentary.

Split in two seasons of five episodes each, the film team starts out on the coasts of Germany’s west to continue all the way to Germany’s east, near the border to Poland. The sequel takes the audience on a discovery trip from Copenhagen via Stockholm and Helsinki to Tallinn, Riga and Gdansk in Baltic Coast.
