Storyline

On the occasion of his estranged father’s death, Radu, a native Gypsy, returns to the tin-shack community of his childhood, situated on a massive garbage dump. Despite his aversion and resistance to this outcast society, he finds love and an increasingly deeper sense of responsibility and identity with the plight of his people, engendering him with the dilemma of bridging the strong pull of his two worlds. “DALLAS PASHAMENDE” is a modern epic, set primarily on a vast garbage dump inhabited by Rroma Gypsies. For these people, disaster lurks in the form of toxins, exploding combustibles, broken glass, and rusty nails beneath each piece of garbage. Theirs is a netherworld of trash, prejudice, ignorance, and poverty, a Babylon of mixed tongues and fallen lives, yet one whose people - though they exist on the edge of death and despair - maintain dignity and hope.
