Storyline

In the year 2005 we celebrate the 400 years of the first edition of one of the most important Works of universal literature and the most important one of Spanish literature: The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha. This 55 minutes documentary approaches the novel in a different way. It tries to enter and discover the unwritten, what lies beyond the story: an old hidalgo and his companion who dared to look at the world in a different way. A sequence of questions allows us to learn about the story whereas every answer generates new unanswered queries.What makes this novel so well-known since the very moment of its publication? And what´s more; why does it still fascinate us? Don Quixote is a parody of chivalry books, but what were chivalry books and why Cervantes did not like them?
