Storyline
The decline of the empire in which "the sun never sets" begins to be present in the Spanish colonies of America. A small redoubt in the Philippines will be the scene of the final fatality. Based on real events, the film gives us the experience of fifty Spanish soldiers who remained in the church of Baler, resisting the siege of 400 rebels from the island of San Luis de Tolosa. More than a year they spent locked in the temple, defending a land they believed theirs, when they did not really know that the lands they were fighting for had already been handed over to the Americans, the cause of the loss of hegemony.
